Died Friday, December 20, 2024 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont
Esther was born June 26, 1932 in Kansas. She was raised in Kansas and graduated from Clay Center High School. Esther married Leonard 'Red' Bechtel in 1950 and the couple moved to Fremont where Red was from in 1954. After moving to Fremont Esther worked at Campbell Soup, eventually as a meat inspector, then after Campbell Soup closed she was a meat inspector at Hormel Foods in Fremont until she retired.
Esther was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Fremont where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved to knit and made booties and blankets for the new born babies in the hospital. She also volunteered for many years at Arbor Manor taking residents to the church service. Esther enjoyed tending to her flower beds and loved her different rose bushes.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband Red on November 1, 2024, sons David and Mark, grandson Jason Bechtel, and brother Johnny.
The memorial service will be 2pm, Monday, January 6, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to the church. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Cemetery.
