Linda M. (Going) Williams, age 81 of Omaha died peacefully at Country House Elkhorn

Linda was born on July 1, 1942 to Philip and Jeanette (Woten) Going in Hooper, NE. She was baptized on July 19, 1942 and Confirmed on April 3,1955 both at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, NE. Linda graduated from Hooper High School in 1959 at the age of 16. During her high school years Linda participated in band, cheerleading , worked cleaning a beauty parlor and as a Soda Jerk at the Dairy Bar in Hooper. After graduation she moved to Fremont and took a position as a secretary for an insurance agency, a law office and eventually ending up in the office at Hormel.

On December 7, 1962 she married Rodney (Rod) Williams of Fremont at Redeemer Lutheran in Hooper. Together they had three children, Jodi, Chris, and Andy. Linda is currently a member of Rejoice Lutheran Church where she and Rod have been members since 1996.

Linda did many things in her life from working at JC Penney to being a school secretary at two different schools and even an office manager for a few successful businesses. She even had a small ''Moms Helper'' business for a few years, but her main priority was always her family and her faith. Being a mother, taking care of the house and raising three kids was something she took great pride in. She was the rock of the family, she instilled in her kids those values as well as, the love of God, do the right things and have faith.

In her free time Linda enjoyed spending time with her Cronies, as she called them, gambling a little with Rod and of course Husker Athletics. She also enjoyed her antiques, shopping, and volunteering at the church teaching Sunday and Bible School or whatever was asked. She loved helping others and it gave her joy to see others happiness. She was even known to feed a stray animal or two. Of course, her biggest joy came later in life, spending time with and spoiling her eight grandchildren. They were her sunshine!

She is survived by her three children, daughter Jodi Pelzer of Grundy Center, Iowa: sons, Chris (Michele) Williams of Ogden, Iowa, and Andy (Leslie) Williams of Valley, NE. Eight grandchildren, Tyler (Alicia) Pelzer, Tanner (Emma) Pelzer, Chloe (Dalton) Laughlin, Alec, Blair and Lane Williams and Jordan and Savannah Williams as well as a great-granddaughter, Maren Pelzer.

Linda and I were pals in high school, roommates after high school, i was in her wedding, so my memories of her date back a lot of years. And those memories of course include Rod. We could get together and gab for hours. The two of them will ALWAYS hold a SPECIAL place in my heart. K.K.

Jodi,Chris and Andy. We know how hard this has been for you and your extended family. Having both parents pass on in the last year. We had such a great time through the many years with both of them. They will always be in our thoughts as will the three of you.

Luke 7:50 - Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Andy, Jordan, Savannah and family. Every day we have with our loved ones here is truly a blessing, but an even greater blessing is knowing we will be with them again in Gods kingdom where there is no sickness or suffering. God bless Linda and all of you.
