Jim: I gave you the nickname Grumpa because you could be a grumpy old fart. I loved the way we could give each other so much crap and crow on each other. My kids would just laugh at us. I looked at your family as my second family and have missed you guys so much since you retired. I learned so much from you in the nursery business. I met you when you came to MCC to talk to our landscape classes on plants. We formed a bond that lasted a long long time. I think of your family every time I drive past the nursery. I still have one of the Spring Snow Crabs that I got from you when I bought my house in 1985 and I think of you. Some great advice you would give such as DON'T STAND ON ****** PILE OF DIRT YOUR DIGGING. **********. LOVE YA MAN Wednesday, July 21, 2021 |

Dear Sue and Jim's girls, We built our house in 1980 and Jim planned the Landscaping. From that time on he became special to us. He always made time for all customers beyond what we were there for. He shared life with us. Such a hard working sweet kind man. We still think of you guys everytime we drive by the nursery. We did not return after you guys sold it. Cant imagine the void you will have with his passing. Oh but what great memories to comfort. This verse reminds us of Jim....proverbs 11:25 A generous man will prosper; He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Blessings to you all as you begin to do life without Jim's presence.

This man was one of the smartest funniest people I have ever known. When asked about a weed I remember him quipping without missing a beat oh, that one is physicians weedi. (Doc Weed) You should pull it out. He always had a twinkle in his eye with a story to follow. Uncle Jim will be sorely missed by many. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 |

So sorry to hear of Uncle Jim's passing. Working at the greenhouse throughout my childhood and teen years are some of my fondest memories. I learned a lot that I still reference today. Thinking of you all in this time of sadness. Monday, July 19, 2021 |
