I just learned of Orville's passing. Please accept my belated sympathies. Some of my fondest memories were riding on the bus, playing old time on my trumpet, listening to Orville sing or play his tuba. He loved his wife and he used to dedicate the "Honeybee Waltz" to her. I met so many wonderful people in the time I spent involved with the orchestra. Peace be with you. Laura Friday, June 29, 2018 |

Sorry to hear of Orville's death. My husband Harlan and I knew many of his relatives, sister-in-law and many of his wifes relatives. I did meet Orville one time and since my maidden name was also von Seggern we had a good laugh about same name but not related. Thursday, March 15, 2018 |

My sympathy to the entire family. I can remember Orville and his band playing at the Star Light Ballroom. At the time it was owned by my father Rudy Penke. I loved his Big Band Sound and he had a wonderful voice!! He will be missed. Blessings to you all. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 |

Volline, it was always so nice to see you and Orville at music events. He and Norrie made such beautiful music. I'm sure they are together now talking about music and performing. We miss them but know we will join them again. My sympathy to you and your family. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 |

Am so sorry to hear of your loss. My family and myself went to many of Dick Wickman's dances in an around the Fremont area. Orville sang at my wedding back in 1967. What a wonderful voice he had. If I recall right he was a cousin to my Uncle Warren Von Essen. May the Lord wrap His loving arms around you all and give you peace. Monday, March 12, 2018 |

Sending my sympathy to all of Orville's family. While it has been years since I've seen Orville, he was never forgotten. I will always remember his kind and gentle manner, his special gift of being able to visit with anyone, and his incredible voice in song. As I write this, I have a cd playing copied from my parents record of hymns that he cut years ago--"how great thou art"--my favorite of all. God has brought another special angel home!
