Sally L. Shanks, age 58, of Nickerson, Nebraska
died early Saturday morning (Oct. 24th) in the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner.

Sally was born March 19, 1957 in Omaha to Walter and Bertha (Therkildsen) Sund. Her early childhood years were in Omaha, then her family came to Fremont. She was a 1976 graduated of Fremont Senior High School.

During her working years, Sally was employed by the Holiday Lodge in Fremont, Fremont Beef, and ENCOR.
She also was a foster parent.

On September 15, 2006, Sally was married to Alan Shanks and they made their home near Nickerson.

Tyler (and wife Katie) Chrisman of Omaha
2 step-daughters Sara (and husband Trevor) Mueller of Fremont
Laura Brown of Scribner
6 grandchidren
sister Nancy (and husband Judson) Skoog-Smith of Fremont
2 brothers Warren (and wife Sandy) Sund of Fremont
Daniel (and wife Ann) Flood of Norfolk
mother-in-law Marilyn Shanks of Fremont

Sally was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Bertha Sund, brother Wayne and brother Bobbie.

A memorial service will be 10:30 AM Friday (Oct. 30, 2015) at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Heuer.
There will be a private family committal. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel.
