at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont.

Anna May was born March 25, 1928 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE. to Carl and Bertha 'Munster' Brennecke. She grew up in the Millard, Gretna, and Elkhorn area and graduated from Elkhorn High School. After school she worked at Guarantee Life Insurance Company prior to her marriage.

On November 10, 1946 Anna May was married to Leonard L. Luebker at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millard. They made their home on a farm northwest of Arlington where Leonard and his mother were born. She worked for Arlington Telephone Company until they went dial, part time at Marshall Nurseries, Hansens Market and Gamble Store. Anna May also did catering with Marie Law and Marijo Kruger.

The couple moved to Fremont in March of 1985. Their winters were spent in Arizona. Her husband died on April 26, 2005 in Gallup, New Mexico on their way back to Nebraska from Arizona.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Life Member of the Arlington VFW Auxiliary, Charter Member of the Eagles Arie #200 in Fremont, Red Cross/FAMC Volunteer, "Smiles" and "Singles" clubs. Anna May was also a former member of the Elkhorn Riverview Extension Club.

Granddaughter Michelle and husband Joe Herring of Hutto, Texas
Grandson Josh and wife Kirsten Luebker of Lincoln
Great granddaughter Haylee Herring of Hutto, Texas
Special Friend Harold Peters of Fremont

Anna May was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard in 2005 and sister Shirley Rose in 2012.


The funeral is 2pm Friday at Peace Lutheran Church east of Fremont. The burial will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska at a later date. Visitation at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont will be Thursday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church on Friday.
