Mildred was born June 24, 1924 in rural Stanton County near Madison to P. Jacob and Louise 'Sander' Bachman. She was raised in Creston, Nebraska and graduated from Creston High School. After high school Mildred attended Midland College (now Midland University) and graduated in 1945. She taught English for 2 years at Lyons High School. On August 1, 1948 Mildred married Clinton Von Seggern in Creston. After their marriage they resided on a farm northeast of Scribner. Mildred and Clinton moved into Scribner in 1983.

Mildred was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line; Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA), American Legion Auxiliary and the Midland Women. She was a charter member of the Scribner Woman's Club. Mildred enjoyed gardening and quilting.

Marilyn Von Seggern and husband Timothy Kohler of Pullman, WA
Sons: Donald and wife Becky Von Seggern of Scribner
Glenn and wife Beth Von Seggern of Omaha
9 grandchildren
3 great grandchildren
Brother: Stanley and wife Darlene Bachman of Creston
Sisters-in-law: Bernetta Schroeder of Hooper
Lois Von Seggern of Hastings, MI.
Extended family: Hanna Martin of West Point

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Clinton in December of 2010.

The visitation will be on Tuesday April 29 at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm.

A memorial service will be on Thursday, May 1, 10:30am at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line. The Rev. Janice Heidlberger will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Midland Women Scholarship Fund, Scribner Area Foundation and Scribner Public Library
