Merida was born June 21, 1915 in Hamilton County, Illinois to James and Dolly 'Craddock' Odle. He was raised in Hamilton County and lived there until moving to California in 1941. Merida served in the United States Army during his time in California and was married to Charlotte Osburn on May 5, 1944 in San Francisco. The couple moved back to this area were Merida worked for Merle Newkirk on his farm near Spiker
for 3 years. Merida then farmed on his own for 18 years west of Spiker. After farming he then worked for the Winslow Co-op and the Nickerson Co-op. Merida retired in June of 1980 and they moved into Hooper in 1990. Merida became a resident of the Hooper Care Center in 2004.

Terry, wife Janice Odle of Chatfield, MN.
6 grandchildren
many great grandchildren

Merida was preceded in death by a son Robert, daughter-in-law Susan and granddaughter Amy.

The funeral will be Friday December 28 at 10:30am in Faith United Methodist Church in Hooper. The Rev. Susan Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Faith Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3pm to 8pm with family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30pm at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour before service at the church.

    Mary Alice & Don sending our love and condolances to Charlotte, Terry & James & families. What a guy.!!! No one like him. Always remembered dates of birthdays. Mary's birthdate is close to his Always the first thing he would say as we stopped to see you. Always a friendly greeting & enjoyed visiting with us whenever we stopped for a visit. Bob thought so very much of Merida & Charlotte too. We came to love this family of boys as they were growing up. Now Don & I are far off in Arizona, so sorry we are unable to attend the service on Friday . We will be praying for all of the Odles, that God will bless each of you with His Peace & Love in your sorrow for this your dear Husband, Dad & Grandpa. Mary Alice
