Elmer always had a smile and a warm handshake to welcome us in church each Sunday. He was an inspiration when he perserved through his stroke and paralysis. He truly loved his family and it showed. He will greatly be missed. We wish we could be there to celebrate his life with FBC friends. Know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

It is an honor and a privlege to have known Mr. Banks. I have always called him that even though I knew I could call him Elmer. Elmer was the kind man that everyone knew, loved and deeply respected. He was there when I lost both of my grandmothers and my father as well as my mother. A rock you could rest your soul upon when the storms of life got too hard to handle. My family frequently called Elmer, Saint Elmer even though Baptists don't have saints. I know know he is with the rest of the First Baptist gang in heaven and now waiting for the rest of us to come home. Elmer will be the main usher for that grand greeting when we all come home. God Bless You, Elmer!!!! And God be with you Banks family.
