Betty Lou Gregg (Vasholz) was born in Fremont, NE on January 16, 1928 to Louis (Ludwig) and Lulu Scheffler Vasholz. Betty was an only child.

Betty grew up in the Fremont area and attended school at Rosehill Elementary (Omaha School System) until the middle of the 3rd grade, when she moved with her parents to California. Betty attended school at the Monte Vista St. School (3rd thru 5th) in Los Angeles and Manteca Grammar School (6th thru 8th) and then high school at Manteca, CA. Betty graduated from Manteca Union High School in 1946. Betty was member of Rainbow Girls while she was in California.

Betty Lou Vasholz met Francis C. Gregg on September 17, 1955 in Gillette, WY when she came to Wyoming to visit her aunt. On October 1, 1955 they were engaged and married on November 13, 1955. (8 week courtship) After their marriage, they lived in Gillette, WY for a while before moving to Nebraska so Francis could get more schooling. They lived a few years in Arlington, NE before purchasing property and moving to Washington, NE in 1966. Betty and Francis resided in Washington until Francis's death in February 1994, after which she lived alone until she was admitted to Merrick Manor in Fremont in October 2004. Betty and Francis had no children of their own, but "claimed" everyone else's!

Betty was employed at a bank in California before she met and married Francis Gregg and was later employed as a substitute postmaster in Nebraska. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club in Washington and held several offices in the club over the years. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. She was also an artist and has won several merits and awards for her paintings. Betty was also an animal lover! (Sometimes she said that animals should have more rights than people!) She was always adopting and feeding the neighbor's dogs and cats!

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Francis C. Gregg (1994), and her parents, Louis Vasholz (1983) and her mother, Lulu Scheffler Vasholz (1990), two brother-in-law Forrest and Willard Gregg, one sister-in-law Bernice Curtis Cooksey, her mother-in-law-, Nellie Gregg and one niece, Glenda Musgrove.
