I have lots of good memories of my uncle's wit, wisdom and skill as a farmer and marksman. I still look up to these skills as a benchmark for me to aspire to. My sympathies to my cousins and to Aunt Pat for your loss and my wife and I will pray for God's peace and comfort to you. Doug was a blessing to my life and others and he will be missed.

My sympathies to my Aunt Pat, cousins, family, and friends of Uncle Doug. He taught me that the act of work is often it's own reward, mutual respect is the basis of any quality relationship, and that tough guys can be sweethearts too! We'll miss you Uncle Doug - peace be with you.

To family & friends of Doug, I'm very sorry for your loss. I liked Doug, he was always interesting to listen to and had his own perspective on how to do things. He worked very hard during his life and had a no nonsense approach to life and work that reminded me of my dad. I know you will all miss him as I too miss my dad. Again, my sympathy to all. Sincerely, Jerry Kruger

Thank you Uncle Doug for 50 years of friendship and kinship. I'll always remember the things you did for me and the times we spent together. You taught me how to irrigate fields, the old way, pumping those plastic tubes, what fun. Riding on the "Thing" and the go-cart you made for Rich and Rog and me. I'm still sorry I ran into your disk and caused some damage. I'll remember ice cream and cookies for breakfast, but most of all I'll remember that tall, dark and handsome man in black who had those beautiful piercing blue eyes, who was always chewing on a toothpick and found time to visit with me. I loved you then and always will. your niece, Cathy

I wanted to let the family know that I'm sorry for their loss. I'll miss Grandpa, I remember having some good conversations with him. He was a very strong, intelligent man and he will be missed by many. Mom told me the funeral was pretty neat; there were lots of people there and lots of good stories. I'm sorry that I couldn't be there. Hope all is well with everyone. Love, Cali Rae
