I first met Walt in November 1989, we worked together at Steffy's. Walt was a very caring man and always in a good mood; if you weren't you would be in a short time later. Walt was special to all of us; but even more so to my wife Jayne. My wife's grandparents died when she was very young and Walt was like the prandparent that she didn't have. The two of them would talk as if they were related and had know each other for years; she too will miss him dearly. I miss working with Walt and not seeing him on a daily basis; every now and then him and Donna would stop by and see us, we would catch up with each other and go on until the next meeting. I'll miss his infectious smile and his outward caringness; he will be sorely missed.

May it be a comfort to you that the loving arms which now embrace your Dad-Walter, are the very same arms that are holding you close in your sadness. We are thinking of you at this difficult time, and praying for you, your mom and family. May those special memories that you have of your Dad bring joy to your heart, and a smile on your face.

I worked with Walt at Steffy's for about 13 years and I just have to share one of the most memorable moments I had with him. During one of the hottest day's of summer working in the shop I told Walt that if he's out running errands, I would sure love to have a "dilly-bar" from Dairy Queen. Thinking that would probably never happen, later in the day Walt came walking towards me with a Dairy Queen bag in his hand with a BIG smile on his face. (mine too) I opened the bag to find a HOT bowl of Chili from Dairy Queen to enjoy during that hot afternoon...No "dilly-bar" for me!!! I'm not sure who got the biggest laugh out of that, but during the hot summer months, I'll always remember that bowl of chilli from Walt!
