Larry Lee Rabbass, age 70, died Wednesday July 21, 2021 witnessed by his two sons.

Larry was born October 14, 1950 in Pender, NE to Malinda and Walter Rabbass. Walter died in 1955, and Larry was then raised by his step-father James Means. Larry was the youngest of five siblings, with an older brother Wally and older sisters Larraine, Carol and Lois. He graduated from Wisner High School in 1968 and then received his dual bachelor's degree at Wayne State College in Political Science and History, graduating Cum Laude.

In Wisner, Larry had quite the reputation as a fun and social guy, while also excelling at football. He had the nickname "Boomer" due to his size and skills on the field. He made a lot of great friendships in his early years, many that he still had until his death.

In 1972, he married Patricia Dennis. They met in high school and eventually left Nebraska, moving to Minneapolis, MN where Larry and Patricia had their first son, Ryan Rabbass, in 1978, then moved to Chicago and had their second son, Jason Rabbass in 1980. They settled back in Omaha during the 80's where he enjoyed a very happy decade in the suburbs, seeing success in his career and watching his sons grow up.

Larry was in the security system business, and pursued his career with passion and drive. His career brought him new opportunities in different cities. After a few short moves and his time in Omaha, he and his family then settled in Illinois. In 1990 Larry and Patricia were divorced. Larry re-married shortly after and moved to Florida, where his career really took off and he eventually became the regional sales senior VP at SecurityLink, then moving to other security companies. In south Florida, he lived in a few cities from Fort Lauderdale to Delray Beach.

Larry was recently quoted as saying "I packed a whole lot of life in a whole lot of years". He had health issues since his kidney transplant in 1994, and was lucky to continue to enjoy life into his later years. He loved his sons deeply, he loved many friends, and was in turn loved by them back.

Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by
Sons - Ryan (Nicole) Rabbass
grandchildren - Twins, Weston James Rabbass and Eleanor Layne Rabbass age 1 month
and Jason Rabbass
grandchildren - Mason Levi Rabbass age 7 and Owen Matthew Rabbass age 5
Siblings - Lois Kudlac, Larraine (Mel) Weitzenkamp and Carol (Tony) Giesselman.

So sorry to hear this news. Boomer was a good friend in high school, always ready for fun and lots of laughter. My mother and Melinda were friends so our parents were together a lot of evenings. Larry was a good listener for me when I lost my brothers. A kind man. Praying for peace for your family.
