Marilyn “Lyn” Kay (Moeller) Robart, 73, passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Lyn was born on September 10, 1953, in West Point, Nebraska, to Valera (Hasemann) and Glenville Moeller. She grew up in Scribner, Nebraska, and graduated from Scribner High School in 1971. During her high school years, Lyn was a cheerleader, played volleyball, and learned shorthand. She later attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where friends knew Lyn was the one to ask if you wanted to know where the party was—a glimpse of the fun-loving, social spirit she carried throughout her life.
Faith was a part of Lyn’s life from an early age. She was baptized on October 4, 1953, at St. Paul’s Church and confirmed at United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scribner on June 2, 1968. Later in life, she was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Lyn married Jack Robart on February 17, 1973. Together they moved to Fremont, where they built a life, raised their family, and created more than five decades of memories together. In their younger years, many weekends were spent with friends listening to Jack play with his band, The Velvet Haze—a chapter of their life together filled with music, friendship, and good times.
Throughout her career at Lincoln Federal Savings Bank, Lyn served in various roles, including Vice President. She was deeply involved in the Fremont business community as a member of Credit Professionals and a Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce Diplomat. Her dedication and outgoing spirit were recognized throughout the years, including being named Diplomat of the Year on multiple occasions and receiving the Ms. Coffee Award several times.
Lyn had a gift for friendship and bringing people together. She started a social group fittingly called the Butterflies, reflecting both her love of butterflies and the friendships she treasured. Throughout the years, she also belonged to several card clubs and enjoyed the many friendships she made through them.
An avid golfer and bowler, Lyn enjoyed staying active and spending time with friends. She loved going to concerts, taking boat rides, and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers—especially Husker volleyball.
Christmas was Lyn’s favorite time of year, filled with Hallmark movies, Christmas cookies, and time spent with the people she loved. She found joy in butterflies, beautiful flowers—despite never claiming to have much of a green thumb—and, of course, anything purple. Lyn knew what she liked: shopping, a good rum and Coke, the color purple, and absolutely nothing green.
Above all, Lyn treasured her family. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother, but one of her most cherished titles was “GG.” Becoming a great-grandmother brought her tremendous joy, and she loved being GG to her great-grandchildren. Time spent surrounded by the people she loved was among the greatest joys of her life.
Lyn is survived by her husband of more than 53 years, Jack Robart; her children, Nikole Smutz, Jared (Aura) Robart, and Justin (Diana) Robart; her grandchildren, Natalie (Tyler), Payton, Madison, Jaxon, Lexie, Jillian, Victoria, Samantha, Kenny, and Alexis; her great-grandchildren, Odie and Raven; her brother-in-law, Ron Lear; her sister-in-law, Vicky Robart; and many nieces, nephews, and cherished cousins who held a special place in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Valera and Glenville Moeller; her sister, Sherilyn Lear; her nephew, Mathew Lear; her mother- and father-in-law, Irene and Otis Robart; her sisters-in-law, Kathy Shurigar (Clint) and Marjorie Petri; her brother-in-law, Jim Robart; and her great-granddaughter, Teddi Lyn Going.
She leaves behind a life filled with family, friendship, laughter, music, traditions, and countless memories that will continue to be shared by those who loved her.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel with the family present from 4-7pm. The funeral will be 10:30am, Thursday, October 8, 2026 at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial will be in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Make-a-Wish or to the family for later distribution.
