Scott David Fitzgerald, age 34, of Fremont
died Monday, August 12, 2013
in the Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha,
following a brief battle with cancer.

Scott was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 16, 1978. He attended school in Eagle, Nebraska and graduated from Waverly in 1997.

On March 16, 2002, Scott was married to Courtney Tjeerdsma, whom he met at Camp Carol Joy Holling as camp counselors. They lived in Saco, ME where Scott graduated from the University of Southern Maine. While living in Maine, their son and daughter were born.

Scott worked for the USPS in Saco and transferred to Fremont in 2010.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Scarborough, Maine and was also a Scottish Rite Mason.

children - son, McCartney age 8, and daughter, Anastasia age 6, both of the family home
mother Nathalie Fitzgerald of Lincoln
brother Brian and wife Amanda Fitzgerald of Lincoln
sister Shannon and husband Ben Ore of Lincoln
parents-in-law Lynn and wife Mary Tjeerdsma of Alexandria, Virginia
Barbara and husband George Wollen of Lincoln
aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

There will be a service at 10:30 AM Thursday (Aug. 15, 2013) at Camp Carol Joy Holling (near Ashland, Nebraska). Memorials, in memory of Scott David Fitzgerald, are suggested for 'Camperships' for Camp Carol Joy Holling. Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, is assisting with arrangements.
