Died Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Methodist Fremont Health

Gary Ernst Bundy the son of Carl Fulton and (Francis) Arlien (Ernst) Bundy was born April 15, 1942 at Wood River Nebraska. Most of his childhood days and young adult years were spent at Kenesaw, Nebraska. Gary graduated from high school in1960, at Kenesaw. After graduating he went to Horticultural School. He met the LOVE of his life Carla Faie Hixson, at a 4H gathering. They were married December 29, 1968 in Bassett, Nebraska. There was a major snow storm that day, it took 2 and half hours to go the 32 miles from Rose, Nebraska to Bassett, Nebraska, what a way to start a marriage. Their first night was spent at the Motel in Bassett. Their married years were spent at Fremont, Nickerson and Hooper, Nebraska. Gary worked at Valmont Irrigation in Valley, Nebraska.

Gary and Carla were blessed with four children, Gregory Ernst, Gary Ernst Jr., Chad Everett, and Heather Jolene.

He is survived by his wife he Carla, children Chad and Heather, Grandchildren Gregory (Brittany), Haley, Christopher, Caleb (Seirra), Logan, Aaron(Zoey) and Hannah Bundy. Great Grandchildren: Navy, Lucin and Avron Johnson, Brody and Winnie Bundy. Sisters-in-law Belva (Hixson) Schwanke and Gloria Hixson (Bill) Polzkill, nieces and nephews

Those preceding him in death were sons Gregory and Gray Jr, his parents, siblings Leroy (Ruth) Bundy and Sandy Bundy (Brad) McConnell, a nephew Doug, In-Laws C.J. Martha (Jefferies) Hixson, Brothers-In-Law Norman (Pat) Hixson and Leo Scheanke .

Services and burial at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to the family to be designated at a later date.

    I worked with Gary for several years in the paint building at valmont. He was always keeping busy and wouldn't take time off unless he had to. He usually had a nugget of wisdom or a joke to share. Rest in peace Gary.
