Died Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Methodist Fremont Health after a long illness.
Karen was born March 22, 1952 in Hastings, Nebraska to Robert C. and Opal 'Hammer' Lansworth. In 1956, the family moved to Fremont where Karen lived the rest of her life. After graduating from Fremont High School in 1970 Karen worked for a title and abstract company and finance business. In 1974 Karen began a career at the Dodge County Courthouse, taking positions in the Assessor's and Treasurer's offices, retiring in 2021 after 47 years of service.
Survivors include a sister Brenda (Dennis) Grimes, brother Tom (Jane Norman) Lansworth; nieces Molly Grimes, Emma Lansworth; nephews Josh Grimes, Peter Lansworth; grand-nephew Alex, grand-nieces Jasmine and Lucia Anne. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother Robert.
The funeral will be 2pm, Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Catz Angels (https://catzangelscare.org/). Visitation will be Monday, from 3pm to 7pm with the family present from 5pm to 7pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.
