A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday (June 17th) in the First Lutheran Church, 3200 E. Military in Fremont with the Rev. Charlie Axness officiating.

Rose was born on September 4, 1920 in Octavia, Nebraska to Anton and Anna 'Matejka' Jindra. She was married to Burton Knepper on April 30, 1938 in Glenwood, Iowa. They lived in Schuyler during most of their 60 year marriage. Burton died on May 18, 1998.

She was active in many roles at her former church, Christ United Methodist Church of Schuyler. Among her other many volunteer roles, Rose served as treasurer of AARP. She was a former Girl Scout leader. She also volunteered at the Schuyler Senior Citizens Services, teaching exercise classes, serving on the Advisory Council, and later, after moving to Fremont, she volunteered at the Low Income Ministry of Dodge County.

Rose had worked at Zelenda Produce from 1950 to 1960 in Schuyler and for Dale Electronics (now Vishay) in Columbus from 1960 until retiring in 1982. During her years at Dale/Vishay she won numerous awards for innovative, efficiency promoting, time and money saving ideas. Her personal interests included cooking, reading, word games, helping others, and most of all - time spent with family and friends.

Survivors: one daughter, Marcie Divis-Michaud and husband Bill of Fremont; grandson Scott Divis and great granddaughter Kayla Divis both of Omaha; a sister Ann Parolek and a brother Ed Jindra, both of Schuyler, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and four brothers.

There is no public visitation. A private family burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Christ United Methodist Church of Schuyler, Low Income Ministry of Dodge County and First Lutheran Church, both of Fremont.
