Norine M. Sweet, age 95, of Fremont was born October 20, 1930 passed away May 23 surrounded by the love of her family.
Norine went to college and taught at a country school in South Dakota. She moved to Nickerson, Nebraska where she taught school in Fontenelle. She then worked at Pendleton woolen mills until she retired after 24 years. She married Bob Sweet and was married for 36 years until his passing in 1989. Together they had 7 children Debbie Wyman (Mike) of Colorado Springs, Larry Sweet passed in 1991, Roland Sweet (Shannon) of Nickerson, Teresa Bramlett of Fremont, Brian Sweet (Susan) of Nickerson, Patty Sweet of Omaha, Wanda Totten (Gary) of Nickerson. Norine adored her 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She especially loved gardening, sewing, crafting and cheering on the Cornhuskers. Norine was a strong, witty, caring, loving woman and anyone who knew her grew quickly to love her.
Norine was preceded in death by her husband Bob and son Larry.
The funeral will be Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 10am at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery.
