Arlene D. Walter, age 94, of Fremont
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Wednesday June 25, 2025 at home.
Arlene was born March 22, 1931 in Snyder, Nebraska to Herman and Matilda 'Kroenke' Klintworth. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Snyder. Her confirmation verse was John 14:6 ''I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.'' She attended St. Peter's Lutheran grade school and graduated from Snyder High school in 1949.
After graduation she moved to Omaha to work at Watson Trucking for a few years and then at Gamble's Store office in Fremont, finishing her working years at the Fremont Public Schools.
Arlene married Denis Walter at Trinity Lutheran Church on April 10, 1954. Their son Timothy was born in 1959.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Denis, parents, six brothers and three sisters.
Arlene is survived by her son Timothy (Gail Pfingston) Walter, granddaughter Ashley Sherwood, great grandchildren Ignatius (IJ), August, and Townsend Sherwood all of Fremont; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Geri McIheran of Oro Valley, AZ.; sister-in-law Margie Klintworth of Omaha. Many nieces and nephews. One cherished lifelong friend Aina Legband and one faithful little dog ''Beans.''
The visitation will be July 9, 2025 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral will be 10am, July 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Greg Rathke will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity or Nebraska Dachshund Rescue.
