Charles "Chuck" H. Wagner

Charles H. Wagner, 76, of Ashland, Nebraska, passed away surrounded by family on January 4, 2024.

Chuck was born on May 5, 1947, in Fremont, Nebraska, and raised on the family farm near Hooper. He attended rural grade school, graduated from Hooper High School in 1965, and the University of Nebraska in 1969, where he played in the Cornhusker Marching Band. Chuck was awarded a J.D. from the Nebraska College of Law in 1972. After law school, he accepted a position with the law firm of Dickerson, Miles and Pico in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he became a partner. In 1981, Chuck and his family returned to Wahoo, Nebraska, where he practiced law with Edstrom, Bromm, Lindahl, Wagner and Miller.

On September 16, 2002 Chuck married Cindy Reinhard. They enjoyed a second career together owning and operating farmland and businesses in Dodge and Saunders counties. Chuck enjoyed traveling, classical music, literature, politics, and spirited conversation.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy, and his children Jessica (David) Knox, Aidan and Laine, of Fort Worth, Texas; Elaine (John) Dolecek of Austin, Texas; and Joe (Melanie) Wagner of Asheville, North Carolina; brother Bill (Theresa) Wagner of Omaha; sister Barbara (Tom) Foster of Leawood, Kansas; stepchildren Joe (Brooke) Reinhard of Lincoln; Hobbes Logan of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Whitney (Chris) Till of Chillicothe, Ohio; seven step grandchildren, one niece and two nephews.

At Chuck's request, there is no formal memorial service. Burial will take place at the Logan Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Siena Francis House, Catholic Charities of Omaha, or the Omaha Symphony.
