Dr. Lloyd Kilmer

Leclaire, IA

Bill was a tremendous colleague and great friend to the kids at Arlington. He was the best at teaching history and coaching his athletes. As his Principal, I always lined up new faculty with him as a mentor to bring them into the profession; I knew that they would be in good hands. Prayers to the family and all of his many friends.

Great memories of a great teacher, I can still hear his standard line "Students today we are going to grow, progress and become enlightened" . . . followed by a smile and a chuckle. I worked at Aksarben the last semester of my senior year so we always had plenty to talk about! May you all find comfort in your own memories of this very memorable man.

As a golfer he taught me patience and composure - both of which were often absent in my game and life. Will always be thankful for the lessons. Best wishes to family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as your mourn the loss of your father, brother, and friend. Mr. Kellogg taught my sister and I near the end of his teaching career and my dad at the beginning of his career. He made learning easy and fun! He was definitely an influential person in our education path, I can only imagine how much he meant to all of you. May your memories help you through this week, and the weeks to come.
