Doris was such a part of my growing up. I spent a lot of time over there and causing trouble with Paul I am sure I helped contribute to some of the grey hairs. But she always came out smiling and welcoming us into her home as if we were one of her kids.

She was Paul's and the rest of our groups biggest fan. Every game, no matter where it was played, you would find her there offering encouragement to all of us.

She was a special person and will be missed by us all.

It was such a treat to be closer to Doris, my first cousin, when we moved here from Cali... then she went home to Nebraska. Sigh. And we missed seeing her! Mom was a survivor. She was a person of great sacrifice: she sacrificed nearly everything for years for her children, she sacrificed a lot in the name of love, she sacrificed so much always hoping to stay ahead of the game.
Mom had a passion for animals, for cooking, for bridge and--back in the day--for going to Paul´s football games!! She was unique, a fighter, a tough lady at times, but always "just on the outside". Inside she was afraid to be hurt.
