Coach John, you blessed many of us over the years. You have left a legacy of which you can be proud. Your soul will be with God. Thank you for the influence on my life. I was a better adult because of you.

Lois and family, I am sorry for your loss. Coach was a great guy and will surely be missed. He influenced so many in his years of teaching and coaching. I know my life is much richer for having him as a coach and a role model. Peace to you all. Sincerely, Jim

I am deeply saddened by the McMullen family's loss. John was a great and good man. I knew him first as a teacher, but longer as a friend. John is one of those folks who shaped who I am and I am grateful to have known him. He and his family always made me feel welcomed in their home. I will miss our conversations and his wonderful sense of humor.

Don and Elke Dickmeyer

Omaha, Ne

Lois and family, We are saddened to hear that John has passed away. He came to FHS when I was a senior there. I remember his grin from the first time I saw him in the halls. We became friends in later years through our involvement in sports and when I served as your mailman. We even had a stint one summer together, as painters. We saw each other in later years at movies in Omaha. I will always remember his calming ways. I consider him as one of the greatest mentors. Sincerely, Don Dickmeyer

John was one of my favorite teachers in high school. He genuinely loved his students and wanted all of us to succeed, not only in his classes but also in life in general. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. My sincere condolences to the family. Godspeed Mr. McMullen and may you rest in peace.
