Elaine was born December 15, 1939 in Rochester, MN. to Walter A. and Dorothy M. (Hanson) Bigelow. During her working years Elaine was a waitress. She enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing pool.
Elaine is survived by her:
daughter Margaret 'Peggy' and husband Jay Peterson-Vrtiska of Hooper
grandchildren Kara Mueller and Anton 'Toad' Mueller
stepsons David and wife Laurie Redding Jr. of Colon
grandchildren Sean, Nathan, Clayton, Aaron, Isaac, and Addyson Redding
Shawn Redding of Fremont
grandchildren Shelby Redding and Seth Redding
brother Jay and wife Deborah Peterson of Fremont
sisters Rosemary Brown of Texas
Valerie and husband Daniel Layman of Fremont

The memorial service will be Friday 11am at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Scott Jensen will officiate. There is no visitation.

Fremont, NE Saturday, January 17, 2015 I only knew Elaine for a short time. But I learned that she loved animals particularly dogs. When the humane society brought 2 puppies to the care center, she picked one up. She was excited. She shared with me a picture of her sister in Texas. I'm a volunteer with Fremont Health.Jackie Agena
Hooper, NE Thursday, January 15, 2015 I have known Elaine for many years. I have a hanging plant she gave me at least 30 years ago in my kitchen window. I think of her when I am working at my kitchen sink. She will be missed.
