Evelyn Kay Tharp, age 73, of Fremont,
died Thursday June 26, 2014
in Shalimar Gardens Memory Unit, Fremont.

Evelyn was born February 11, 1941 in Omaha to Earl and Gladys (Leffingwell) Trullinger. She grew up in Waterloo, Nebraska where the family lived. She was a graduate of the Waterloo High School.

On August 8, 1959, Evelyn was married in Waterloo to Guy Eugene Tharp Jr. They lived 2 years in Omaha before moving to Fremont where they have resided since. Evelyn was a homemaker, raising 4 children.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church where she was active in the Grace Circle, and in all the women's activities of the church. She assisted in the Lutheran World Relief Drive each year. She also assisted the prayer chain ministry, and with serving luncheons at various church programs. She also was active with the cub scouts and girl scouts.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Gladys Trullinger, brothers Earl Trullinger Jr. and Keith Baird, sister Loa Foley, and sister-in-law Venus Baird.

The funeral service will be 10:30am Monday at First Lutheran Church (3200 E. Military St.) with the Rev. Charlie Axness officiating. A lunch will follow the service with the committal to follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery near Elkhorn. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church and to the Alzheimer's Association.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at church.
