Alice M. Weir age 94, long time resident of Fremont, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at Nye Legacy Health and Rehab in Fremont, where she had been a resident for the past five years.

Alice was born February 14, 1920 in Fremont to Frank and Lillian Shephard. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1938 and subsequently attended Midland College. She was married to Richard 'Dick' Weir April 12, 1941 at the First Baptist Church in Fremont.

A devoted wife and homemaker she enjoyed her family, reading, golfing and swimming. She especially enjoyed periodic shopping trips to Omaha and was also noted for her kitchen talents in crafting delicate pie crusts. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2008 and her first cousin and long time friend Janice Davis in 2013. Survivors include her three sons, David, John and Charles, daughter Diane, daughter-in-law Gloria (wife of John Weir) as well as six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2pm Monday June 30, 2014, at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont with the Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. Immediately following the graveside service a reception will be held at Nye Legacy located at 3210 N. Clarkson in Fremont.
