Brock W Lehman, 68, of Fremont, NE, passed away peacefully in his home from ALS on August 13, 2020.

He was born in Bozeman, Montana, on December 15, 1951 to William and June Brock Lehman. Brock grew up in Iowa and graduated from Jefferson Community High School in 1970. In 1974 he received a degree in business from Wayne State College. He was married to Joanne Wilcox Lehman on June 30, 1973, in Cleghorn, Iowa.

Brock was employed by Valmont Industries for his entire career, where he formed numerous lifelong friendships and traded unique nicknames. He started in the Irrigation Division and ended his career as Regional Sales Manager of Tubular Products. Brock was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he endured his sons' performances in church activities and various choirs. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible outside feeding the birds and squirrels while smoking a cigar on the back deck. Brock was an avid golfer and a member of Fremont Golf Club. He loved shooting sports and was a member of the Elkhorn Valley Rifle Club, shot at the Valley Trap League on Tuesday nights, and at Harry A Koch Trap and Skeet Range. In order to protect those rights and pursuits, Brock was a committed member of the NRA. Brock also loved sports both as an athlete and spectator, and cherished the opportunities to follow and support his sons' athletic careers and later, watching and following his grandchildren's hunting, fishing, and sporting activities. Like many of us, he may have been a little too attached to the success of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne, 3 sons, Brock (Leah) of Sioux Center, IA, Brennan (Nikki) of Savannah, MO, Bryce (Leanne) of Garden City, MO, 10 grandchildren, sister Jill Lehman of Fremont, NE, brother Bruce Lehman of Smith Center, KS, his cat Mauw, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Ludvigsen Mortuary on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 5-8pm. The family asks that masks be worn. A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020. Memorials may be directed to the family where they will be given to ALS in the Heartland. A live stream of the service will begin at 10:00am. I'm very late in seeing this notice. I just did a Google search for Brock and came about his obituary. I met Brock in 1994 when I started at Valmont Industries. He was a tall and imposing-looking man with a heart of a teddy bear. I remember him fondly even 25 years after leaving Valmont. He is the type of guy who makes an impression. When you recall that impression, you are filled with the warmth that accompanied every interaction with him. We worked together nearly 4 years and I cannot recall a single disagreement. He was always ready to help and teach. When you remember your loved one, you should know his impact extended well beyond what you can see. Goodbye, old friend. This world was better when you were here with us.

I am so sorry for all of you at this time. Knowing it would happen doesn't mean it's any easier. I'm grateful for all the life lessons I have learned from Brock and Joanne both. It has been an honor to know all of you. I loved listening to Brock's choice in music and he helped me get my playlist in order for my bike. I will definitely think of him often. Respectively, Becky

She is a STRONG, CARING and LOVING person for sure, but will always need you to keep her strength up. Brock will be missed by many friends and business associates. His career with Valmont allowed him to touch many other employees--where he always had kind words and a funny story to relate. And many business associates he dealt with over his career. I'm sure he has already signed up for pick-up basketball team in heaven.
All my heartfelt condolences to his family.
