Erin R. Wedergren age 48, of Hooper, died peacefully Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha NE.

Erin was born April 14, 1968. He graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1986. Erin joined the United States Air Force after high school and served 4 years in the 834 EMS in the 1st Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, FL. He received several commendations during his service. He then attended Iowa Western Community College. Erin enjoyed travel and worked in many states before returning to Lincoln. He enjoyed motorcycle racing. Erin worked for West Corporation in Omaha from 2006 until his time of death. He and Karen met at West in 2007. They moved to Hooper in 2013 and were married on April 19, 2014. Erin loved the outdoors, hunting, and shooting. He has his amateur radio license and is also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Survived by his wife, Karen of Hooper. Stepson Geoff Berghauser (Hannah Holdeman) of Omaha. His mother Emie Wedergren of Hooper, his brothers Dane (Sue) Wedergren of Bellevue and Nate Wedergren of Portland, Oregon. Nephews Stewart Wedergren (Sarah Stamper) and Ryan (Amanda) Wedergren. Many great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Erin is preceded in death by his brother, Brent Wedergren, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The memorial service will be March 25, 2017 at 2 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. The family requests casual dress. Burial will be in the Hooper Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation (johnwayne.org).
