Wylene G. Hasemann age 83, of Scribner
Died Tuesday January 10, 2017 at Fremont Health.

Wylene Gerald Hasemann was born on February 24, 1933 on the family farm northeast of Scribner to Herman and Grace (Wooldrik) Hasemann. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Hooper, where he was baptized and confirmed. Wylene grew up on the family farm, attended country school and graduated from Scribner High School in 1950.

On June 10, 1956 he married Lois Priebnow at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. They lived a short time in West Point and Scribner before moving to Wylene's family farm in 1961. They were parents to three daughters, Kimberly, Karla and Kari.

Besides farming, Wylene was known as the "Krate King", owning a successful business selling farrowing crates and other hog equipment. He was an avid Husker fan, and held season football tickets for 45+ years. Wylene enjoyed playing cards, dancing and playing the coronet in various polka bands. He and Lois loved to travel and went on many vacations, cruises and bus trips. Wylene was always thinking of the next place he wanted to go. Wylene and Lois recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a trip to California. He had a great sense of humor, and loved making others laugh. Wylene was a loving husband, father and grandfather and above all, cherished time spent with his family.

Wylene is survived by his loving wife Lois, of Scribner, daughter Kim (Lucky) Shanmugam of Overland Park, Kansas and daughter Kari (John) Herbert of Lincoln. Grandchildren Jennifer Shanmugam of Oakland, California, Nathan and Katie Shanmugam of Omaha, Kylie Herbert of Kearney, and Heidi Herbert of Lincoln. He is also survived by sister Valera (Glenville) Moeller of Scribner, sister Audrey (Leonard) Meyer of Scribner, and sister-in-law, Anita Hasemann of Fremont, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Karla, and brother, Delwyn Hasemann.

The funeral will be 10:30am Saturday, January 14 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Hooper. The Rev. Judith Johnson will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the church and Scribner Volunteer Rescue Squad. Visitation will be Friday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 5pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel.

Lois and family sorry for your loss. My heart just smiles when I think of Wylene's contagious smile and upbeat conversation....he was there with us when Steve and I first started dating---"Krate King" and watched us raise our family including both of you coming to one of Blake's football games.....he loved his football. I can only imagine the Lord is embracing him into heaven and the trumpets are sounding with getting this angel....Hugs to all.
