Carol Loujean (Guern) Ahrndt, age 73,
lost her long battle with cancer on September 10, 2016 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point NE.

Carol was born on July 19, 1943 in Sioux City, IA to parents Doris Loujean Hoskinson Guern and Marvy Henry Carl Guern. She was baptized and confirmed before she married Rodney Lynn Ahrndt on July 25, 1964 at St. Peter's Church in Scribner, NE.

She worked at Midland Lutheran College before they welcomed twin daughters. When Kim and Kris were born she enjoyed being a stay at home mom. When the girls went to college Carol decided to return to school too. She got her LPN degree and worked at Good Samaritan Home in Scribner for many years.

Carol was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her 4 grandchildren attending all of their church and school activities and Buddy her beloved dog gave her great joy! She also was an avid reader and looked forward to playing bunko with her coffee club of friends.

Carol is survived by husband Rodney Ahrndt - Scribner, daughter Kimberly (Willy) French- Scribner, daughter Kristine (Kevin) Haber Tekamah
grandchildren Chelsea & Brandon French & Heather & Derek Haber.

Brother in law Leroy (Molly) Ahrndt Wyoming and many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be 11am Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. The family will receive friends at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm. A memorial will be determined at a later date.

    Carol was always pleasant and cheerful and she fought a tough battle with cancer. I admire her as a wonderful woman. We will miss her especially at Rodney;s army reunions. You have wonderful memories of a great wife, mother and grandmother.
