died Saturday, May 21, 2016, in her home in Fremont.

Faye was born on January 7, 1939 in Rome, Georgia to Jack and Ruby (Drummond) Haney. She was raised in Calhoun, Georgia, later attending LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia.

On October 15, 1960 Faye Haney was married to Haines Hill. The couple lived in New Orleans, Louisiana; Galion, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; and Chattanooga, Tennessee, before moving to Fremont, Nebraska in 1968 where Haines joined Taylor & Martin Inc. Faye was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. She was active in the Fremont Area Community Foundation Haines Hill Scholarship. She was a proud supporter of the UNL Foundation, UNK Loper Volleyball, Marian High School and Creighton Prep High School. Faye was a quiet and generous benefactor to many Fremont area groups, events, and individuals. She was an avid bridge player and loved to root for the Huskers!

Faye was preceded by her husband Haines in November of 2000, and by her parents Ruby and Jack Haney (of Calhoun, Georgia).

Surviving Faye are her daughters Cindy (Chris) Wolfe of Omaha, NE and their children Carolyn, Annie, Mary Katherine, and C J Wolfe; and Holly (Bill) Finegan of Dallas, Texas and their children Patrick, Charlie, and Gracie.

    Cindy, Holly and families -
My deepest sympathy on your mom's passing. What a dear soul. Your entire family was so welcoming to us when we moved to Fremont when I was in grade school. I have so many fond memories of times at the house in town and the lake! I will miss running into Faye at the store and catching up on the latest. What a sweetheart - she will be missed. May your memories help heal your hearts.

  9. Jim and Jodi Wewel
Our deepest sympathy to your family. We were so lucky to move in next door and be Haines and Faye's neighbors. Even after we moved, Faye would call and catch up on our kids and fill me in on her grandchildren. A wonderful tradition from your mother was the Christmas poinsettia she would send each year. We will miss her and her generous spirit. Thinking of you all. Jim and Jodi and family.
