Larry was born January 5, 1943 in Fremont to Lawrence and Celeste 'Schroeder' Brandert. He was raised in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School. Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force after high school and served four years. After his service he worked for a short time for McDonnell Douglas in Missouri then moved back to Fremont. He worked for Kruger Salvage Yard then for Magnus-Farley Metals. He retired from Magnus after nearly 30 years.

Larry married Mary Burt Bahrs in 1979 and moved to Nickerson. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 854 in Fremont.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert.

The funeral will be Wednesday, November 4 at 2pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Rodney Meske will officiate. Burial with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm.
