Darlene I. Stollberg age 85, of Scribner
Died Saturday March 7, 2015 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.

Darlene was born November 7, 1929 on the family farm northeast of Scribner to Carl and Clara 'White' Poppe. She was raised in the area, attended District #36 school and graduated from Scribner High School in 1945. After high school she attended Midland College summer school and received her teaching certificate. She began teaching at District #82. She married Ralph Stollberg Jr. on February 8, 1948. After their marriage they farmed in the Craig area for about 9 years then moved back to Scribner and farmed in the area. Ralph died in April of 1993 and Darlene stayed on the farm for several more years until moving into Scribner. She enjoyed her grandkids, her house was the place to go for them after school. Darlene enjoyed crocheting, and she and Ralph loved to go dancing.

Darlene was a member of United Lutheran Church in Scribner.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, grandson Jacob, 2 brothers and wives Clarence (Deloris) and Donald (Valenda) and sister-in-law Ardell.

The funeral is 10:30am Wednesday at United Lutheran Church in Scribner with burial in the Scribner Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre will officiate. Visitation is Tuesday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue for one hour before the service at the church. Memorials will be determined at a later date.
