Raymond F. Wolf, age 79, of Hooper
died Sunday (Nov. 16, 2014) at Fremont Health.

Raymond was born November 27, 1934 on the family farm near Hooper. His parents were Fred and Clara (Franke) Wolf. He was baptized December 26, 1934 and confirmed on March 21, 1948, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church (east of Hooper) by Rev. Ernest Eckhart. He attended the Wolf School and Immanuel Lutheran School, and graduated from Hooper High School in 1952. He served in the US Army, active and reserve, from 1957 to 1963.

On April 1, 1972, Raymond was married to Arnita Ann Kerns at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont by the Rev. Donald Levenhagen. To this union was born a daughter Angela and a son Aaron. Raymond has lived on the farm of his birth all his life, raising crops and pigs and also operated his own dairy for several years. After closing his own dairy, he milked for the Vi View Farms.

Growing up, he enjoyed playing baseball (he was usually the pitcher). He was an avid Yankee Baseball fan, as well as a Husker fan. He had been active in the choir of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed music. He had also enjoyed bowling. But his family was most important, and he loved following their school and sports activities.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Clara, his sister Elaine Wolf, brother-in-law Clarence Fischer, brother-in-law Bob Shannon, and niece Diane Shannon.

  1. Nancy Heller
Arnita and family--my sincere sympathy and prayers for all of you. I have fond memories of my sister (Linda) and I riding our bikes with our baskets filled with cartons of eggs and empty quart jars to the Wolf farm. Clara would fill the jars with cream, in exchange for the eggs, for our grandparents (Howard and Mabel Heller). I enjoyed visiting with Raymond at the HCC Christmas party a few years ago. God Bless you.
  2. The Williams Family
May the family find comfort in loving memories, and in knowing that God is "close to those that are broken at heart; and he saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) Our loving Creator, Jehovah God, has promised to soon "swallow up death forever...and wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) With deepest sympathy.

So sorry to hear about Ray. I always remember his laugh and his smile. You could always tell how proud your dad was of you two. Will be thinking about all of you.
