Loyd E. Wegner, 74, of Scribner passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.

He was born August 22, 1941, in rural Scribner to Reinhold and Eleonore (Toelle) Wegner.

Loyd attended District 58 country school through 8th grade and then attended Scribner High where he graduated in 1960. After he graduated, he served in the Army National Guard, then came home to help his father farm.

On November 27, 1971, Loyd married Anne Kessinger in Omaha. They lived in Omaha for 2 years while building their current home in Scribner.

Loyd was a member of the Dodge County Cattle Feeders Association, Izaak Walton League, Co-Op Board of Directors, and was past president of the Ridgley Township Board. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family.

Survivors include: wife Anne of Scribner; sisters Betty (Douglas) McCabe of Fremont and Shirley (Larry) Martin of Valparaiso; Brothers Clifford of Fremont and Richard (Rhonda) of North Bend; brother-in-law Clarence Kluge of Scribner; sister-in-law Alice Rolette of Parkersburg, WV; 3 nieces, 9 nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marcella Kluge.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. No visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dodge County Fair.

Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
