She worked in Fremont and during World War II, worked at the Nebraska Ordinance Depot in Mead, Nebraska. She later moved to Omaha and worked at the Bomber Plant making the B-29 bomber planes; the Central Market in Omaha, Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for several years as a long distance operator and later transferring to the Southwestern Bell Company in San Diego, CA.

Linda and Kathy, I want to extend my sympathy to you girls. Dorothy was such a friendly happy person. My parents, Andy and LaFerne Thieman thought a lot of Dorothy. We have good memories with the Buche family.

Linda I am so sorry. Dorothy was a lovely lady. I will be out of town so I won't be able to be at the memorial service but you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to your girls.
