Harold O. Hanen, age 87, of Fremont,
died Monday (Dec. 1st) in Fremont

Harold was born to Oliver and Elizabeth (Ernesti) Hanen on August 1, 1927 in Oakdale, Nebraska. He grew up in the Oakdale area and attended Oakdale schools. Later, he was presented his high school diploma from the Fremont High School. Harold served in the United States Army from January 1951 to December 1952 with most of that time in Korea.

On June 12, 1954, Harold was married to Jeanette Freund. They lived in Fremont where Harold worked as a plumber for Fremont Engineering from 1953 to 1977, and during the years of 1977 and 1978 he worked for Harold's Plumbing. He was with Mahrt Inc. from 1978 to 1994, then worked for Hinky-Dinky Grocery until 1997.

Harold was a long time member of First Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and was active in their Senior Fellowship. He was a member of the American Legion Post 20 in Fremont. He was a former member of the Fremont Eagles Aerie 200.

Harold was preceded in death by an infant daughter Janice, by 2 sisters, and a brother.

Jerry and wife Jan Hanen of Glendale, Arizona

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday (Dec. 5th) at First Lutheran Church. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church and the Fremont Health Foundation Hospice Fund. Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary on Thursday from 3 to 8 PM with the family present from 6 to 8 PM.
