Evelyn M. Johnson Anderson

March 23, 1926 - October 11, 2014

Evelyn M. (Johnson) Anderson, age 88, of Fremont;
died Saturday (October 11th) in Dunklau Gardens (was A.J. Merrick Manor).

Evelyn was born in Dodge, Nebraska to August and Olga (Heinsen) Heese. She grew up in the Dodge & Scribner area. Later, Evelyn worked at the Scribner Air Base.

On March 18, 1945, Evelyn was married to Russell Johnson. Russell enlisted in the United States Army and while he was serving, she worked in the tobacco factories in Virginia. Following his discharge, they came back and farmed northwest of Fremont until Russell's death on March 22, 1978. Evelyn had worked for Mode O' Day and Pendleton Woolen Mills in Fremont, Fachman's Hooper Inn in Hooper, and then she worked for J.C.Penney in Fremont for 25 years until retiring. On May 4, 1984, Evelyn married Eldred 'Bud' Anderson and they lived in Fremont. Bud preceded Evelyn in death on May 30, 2005.

Evelyn was a member of First Lutheran Church and had been active in its quilters group. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and was active in their drill team. She also enjoyed playing in several card clubs.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husbands Russell Johnson and Eldred 'Bud' Anderson, and brother Howard Heese.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday (Oct. 16th) at the First Lutheran Church (Military & Johnson Rds) with Rev. Matt Knopf. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for distribution. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family present from 6 to 8 PM.
