Landy was born August 26, 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was adopted on November 27, 1928 by Walter and Edna 'Schroeder' Daberkow. She grew up in West Point, attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and graduated from West Point High School. She was married on June 1, 1947 to Kenneth E. Hoge. The couple farmed southwest of Scribner. In 1962 they purchased Landy's Café in Scribner which they operated for almost 25 years. Landy then worked as a waitress, bartender and hostess before finishing her working career at Lee's Market in Scribner.

Landy was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner.

Landy was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in November of 1986, great grandson Jamison, brother Tom, brother-in-law Henry Lorenz Jr., and son-in-law Frank Oberle.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be 11am Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. There will be no visitation at the church on Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, The Scribner Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, and the Child Saving Institute.

Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
