John "JT" H. Taylor Jr.

John H. 'JT' Taylor, Jr. age 85, of Fremont
died early Monday September 26, 2016 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

He was born on the family farm near Blair on April 4, 1931 to John H. and Meta M. (Hansen) Taylor, Sr. He grew up on the farm and attended Bisbee School through the 10th grade. He attended Blair High School for a year, then graduated from high school in Fremont in 1948.

John served in the United States Air Force from March 1951 to July 1952. After returning home, he worked at Hormel's several years while also farming near Arlington. He also worked for Victor's Implement west of Fremont from the early 1970's until last year.

John was an active member of the Fremont Alliance Church since 1952, having served on the church board, as an usher, and the building committee, as well various other committees. He was also a member of Arlington Legion Post 8332.

On March 3, 1951, John was married to Patricia A. Chappell.

John was preceded in death by his brother Bob and nephew Rob Taylor.

The funeral will be 10am Friday at Fremont Alliance Church, the Rev. Tom Nevius will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 8332 of Arlington. Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Alliance Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4pm to 8pm with the family present 5pm to 7pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.
