After the closing of Trinity Lutheran, Kathryn became a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. Since joining St. Peter's, she volunteered many hours to the Orphan Grain Train. In her 70's, she went to Latvia and Russia to do mission work. She had a variety of hobbies including quilting, playing cards, and tending to her many varieties of plants.
