Dean G. Ellermeier

April 6, 1951 - September 20, 2015

Dean G. Ellermeier age 64, of Linwood, formerly of Scribner
Died Sunday, September 20, 2015 in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Dean was born April 6, 1951 in Fremont to Louis and Evelyn 'Stalling' Ellermeier. He grew up north of Scribner, was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, attended District #35 school and graduated from Scribner High School in 1969. After high school he attended UNL for one year before returning to the farm to work full time with his father, famously declaring that he did not need to take English literature to know how to farm. Before returning to the farm full time he went to basic training and served his country in the Army reserve. He married Kathleen Klemme on July 28, 1973. They lived together and raised their family on the family farm until 2008 when Kathy passed away.

In addition to farming, Dean worked part time for Egbers Flighting and Supply as well as Beed Transportation out of West Point.

On August 14, 2010 Dean married Lisa Keeler Renner at United Presbyterian Church in North Bend. The couple lived in Linwood while Dean continued to farm in Scribner. Dean was an active member of American Legion Post 121 in Scribner, serving the role of Post Commander on two different occasions.

Dean was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and always put his family as a priority in his life. Never shying away from hard work, Dean expanded the family farming operation and was currently farming over 900 acres over three counties. He was the consummate fix-it man, able to repair just about any piece of broken machinery that the farm could put in his way. He also enjoyed modifying and building his own equipment when something did not fit his needs or could not do what he thought it should be able to do.
